Always with the details! The Superintendent will put it where it should be. We don’t need no stinking Specs. Dustin, you went from a plumbing take off to site work. What do you do?

Tudor = not limited.
Submariner = not attainable (unless you have a longstanding relationship with an AD).
Omega = not limited.
JLC Navy Seals = limited. original. high horology. provenance. will keep its value more than the others (except the sub).
* And as far as I can tell even Watcbox has only had 1 per year for the past 3 years so I doubt this one will last long before it is sold.

Just get a Pelagos.
having been spawned by a squid who did the sea air and land thing- i can tell you that no SEAL would wear that fukcing watch unless it was given to him and miltary folks aren't allowed to accept gifts from foreign entities unless they have trivial value. A real SEAL would use that $7k for a nice down payment on a new Street Glide with a 25% loan.
however- that is a really cool looking watch. i'm still going to hold out for a that Tudor I like....as a good friend of a friend from the UK once said- "A Rolex is a house painter's watch."
Tudor Submariner is the real deal Navy Seal watch.
Talking Watches: With Moki Martin - HODINKEE
I see the Jerk with either a Tudor Submariner or a Rolex Daytona ;)
Apparently the SEALs (or the precousor to the SEAL teams) did use Rolex Submariner watches:
U.S. NAVY SEALS Rolex Submariner Heritage
And the Royal Navy as well:
Military Time: Rolex and the Armed Forces
MILITARY ISSUE ROLEX SUBMARINERS
They also used Blancpain Fifty Fathoms.

In the early 80s, we were issued Benrus Type 1 watches.
The whole "our dive watch used by X military/marine/navy" thing is pretty dumb. Blancpain, Enicar, Rolex, JLC, Tudor, Omega, Panerai and plenty of others were used.
Maybe more interesting are the Eterna, Omega, Cyma, Lemania, etc Dirty Dozen watches.
In either case, I wasn't there and can only imagine tools weren't fetishized the way as they are now.
(I'd still like a Tudor Sub.)
-- in the paddies of rice i was issued a Seiko
similar to current seiko 5 automatic ss with nylon strap (current cost around $140)
i have current high-end timepieces from family, military ets and purchase..
RGM is my daily left wrist --- no time lost or service problem for the last ten+ years..

My brother said his last issued watch was a G-Shock with fixed bars already on it.
Just bought this Seiko 5 series SNZH55 to have it modded:

And it will look like this afterward (aka Fifty Five Fathoms - the extra Five because the base watch is a Seiko 5 series - it is an homage to the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms):

And I am having the other style made for my younger brother:
https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/CdkAA...ITn/s-l300.jpg
I am going full force:
- Dial swap
- Sapphire crystal install
- Movement upgrade (so it hand winds and hacks)
- Sailcloth strap (to replace crappy stock metal bracelet)
I have bought most of the parts and am working with a modder directly. Do not have the time or inclination to do it myself.
Several years ago there was a guy named Dennis Rudy (drudy) who sold a number of Fifty Fathoms homage watches with various dials and bezel inserts. They had a domed sapphire and ETA 2824 movement and were very reasonably priced....$300 IIRC. I purchased one and have been more than happy with it over the years.

RGM did it again. They have released a Pilot series, including a left handed version. What a great notion >>
