    Default Seattle hotels …..

So we are heading to Sacramento in mid-July ….. and before people question the choice of tourist destination …. I’m sort a train nerd (actually a lot of a train nerd) and Union Pacific are bringing their summer Steam Tour to Roseville, Ca. So we are going to head down and hang out with a lot of people who I have no doubt will be much bigger train nerds than me … but we are taking the train down.

Of course none of the schedules match up very well so we are taking the train from Vancouver to Seattle and then have to stay over to get the train to Sacramento the next morning ….

7 AM departure out of Seattle (King Street station) , which means check in at 6.

Anyone have any suggestions for a hotel to make it to the station in good time on a Wednesday morning in July??

Downtown is not on the radar as I don’t feel like dropping $400+ …………

For any other train nerds ….

Wow - cool engine! Maybe check out the Panama Hotel - no idea about pricing but it’s close, cool, and historical.

I checked the Embassy Suites - amazing what happens to prices in mid-July….

I felt like $500+ for a night at an Embassy Suites was just a little bit rich ……..

Coworkers like the Max, the Sorrento, and the W. Pretty sure they’re more downtown than you want. You could go south of SoDo perhaps, the Georgetown Inn?
