This popped up on the Youtube watch list. I never tire of watching people who have dedicated themselves to a craft or art.

Thanks for this.

Well since most of us cannot afford sliding screens or folding screens, but maybe you can swing for a tradional lamp.

Woah! Those look nice. I am going to check them out right now. Thanks!
Glad I found this thread.
There is a Woodcarving show that happens in Mesa, AZ every year in late February. I was at the show in Feb 2020, just before the world ended, and there was a group of hobbyists there demonstrating Kumiko. It was mesmerizing watching them. I was so fascinated that I went back the next day and brought my wife with me, saying you have to see what these guys are doing. I knew she would be intrigued as she is a quilter. I had to almost pull her out of there.
Of course there was no show in 2021, and I would not have been able to be there anyway, but the show returned in 2022 and I was quite disappointed that the Kumiko people were not there. Maybe this year.
I am currently VERY slowly working my way through trying to install a Kumiko “peek a boo” panel in a cabinet door frame I am making.
If it turns out acceptably I will post a picture later.
that was very enjoyable. Thanks for posting it.
Kigumi House build from the same source (a craft museum?) as the original video. Also very good, would love to see my own house built this way.
Great Video! It really deserves it's own thread.
