This company has been around for a while, and I always used their titanium pans while camping.
The founder's granddaughter is behind the push into apparel. Not really an outdoor company, more a Forest bathing harajuku meets the great outdoors. (or look good while car camping and having a barbecue.).

Some of the styles are pretty fun. Some are really quite traditional japanese too. A little hard to pull off if you are not japanese and not in japan.

I got a Snow Peak GigaPower stove to make coffee in the garage. Fits in its own titanium pot. Their stuff is really great.

I haven't seen their clothing in person, but I'd wear this parka. I'm always on the search for things with good pockets, and the Japanese designers really like pockets.

The Japanese designers get really great feeling fabrics and put together garments with meticulous stitches. It is really a tactile focus on clothing. Simple design with clever "adjustments" from tradition. These are from Nepenthes.

Amazing. I think the Japanese love of Scandinavia is hilarious but also I can see the affinity. We stumbled on an area of Hokkaido where a television show was shot at one point - "Life in the Country" or "Country Life" something like that. The area was described as very Norwegian. I mean, there were a few stands of spruce trees but seemed like a bit of wishful thinking? However the noodle shop in the tiny nearby town had the best noodles I've ever eaten.



Snow Peak has these sweaters that are knitted from baby alpaca wool. The wool equivalent of magic.



And stoves that fit into table frames for deluxe outdoor kitchens. Because you know, these are the necessities right?

There is an Arcteryx shop in Soho NYC that has their experimental line in the back. Way too cool for me, but it is interesting to see what's in development.

I bought the collapsible Snowpeak fire pit (and grill grate) during the beginning of covid and man I love that thing.
One day if I’m ever feeling particularly flush I might just buy all the addons and accessories that go with it.

Having bike camped at a lot of Japanese auto-camp sites, the setups that you see are simpy incredible in their scope and detail.

We saw this bike on our cycling trip around Daisetsuzan National Park in Hokkaido. The rider looked like a piece of twisted leather. He had a titanium cup that he clipped to his handlebars. Great trip. I'd love to go back and do some bike camping.
