Just curious- what are you listening to right now?

To my kids everlasting shame, I still listen to Pandora. This is my current favorite.

I watched a film called Rudeboy recently which chronicled the history of Trojan Records and I’ve been on an early reggae kick since then. Derrick Morgan is straight fire.

Also the remastered Abbey Road is tremendous.

Going to Joshua Tree for the first time next week so a little of that album by U2 plus some Rattle and Hum are in order for the plane ride.

Earlier today I was binge listening to vintage Rush, celebrating the genius of Neil Peart. Now though, I'm relaxing to Miles Davis' Greatest Hits...all on vinyl.

50 best albums of the decade: own zero, recognized maybe five, and there's only one that have I listened to more than one track (Bowie's Blackstar)

Note to self: pick up Moon Shaped Pool (Radiohead), Dark Matter (Randy Newman), and Wrecking Ball (Springsteen).

50 best songs of the decade: oh dear. I recognized only seven of them and they were by Adele, Lorde, Daft Punk, Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepsen, U2, and DJ Snake. I am in the Dad Zone. I might even be so far in that I'm almost out the other side.

Andy Gill has died, so I thought I'd let Entertainment! guide me through this morning's workout. But the first three Gang of Four albums - Entertainment!, Solid Gold, and Songs of the Free - are inexplicably not available to stream. And, really, they're the ones worth hearing.

So I had Solid Gold with breakfast, Bass Guitar and Drums yo. The first two songs still light me up. Presenting Andy Gill:

I'm so excited for this. I pre-ordered the vinyl and he's coming to my hometown. Caught him at Hinterland festival last year and he just blew my ears off. So good. He's one of the best songwriters of this generation.
