I really like Clark's. Back in the day when I traveled to Europe every every year for a series of motorcycle races, my first stop was to a Clark's shop in London where I bought a years worth of them, including their desert boots. Now that Clark's are sold in the U.S., I don't have to do that anymore. But I do miss the travel. And the motorcycle racing.

I have no experience with the Cole Haan Chukka boot but I have a few pairs of Cole Haan dress shoes with Nike Air and they are very comfortable. Unfortuatey their shoes are very pricey.

I dig the Clarks. I had a great pair, but got sick of my dumb ass buddies asking me if I had made my own shoes. It was funny though, the first time I heard it, not the 100th.

Seems live everyone is making a desert boot these days. They range anywhere from $100-$450, but they all pretty much look the same. Clarks is a fine choice. Find a pair with a sole that you like and get 'em. Done and done.

Love my Clarks. The bonus is that with the gum rubber sole, if you don't know whether you over-pronate (or supinate), you will in about 2 weeks.

I got a pair of JCrew chukka's made in Italy (we all know what that means) for $35. I've worn them for 3 years now and finally the sole is about dead. I'm going with the grey Clarks next. Awesome to wear when you tire of sneakers and just good enough when I head into my office when chinos.
