Interval plan?
I want to build explosive power that I know I am currently lacking.
There is a specific event I would like to peak for (August 10th).
I feel I've built a decent base mileage (much better than the last two years).
I know I need to do intervals...the question is in what structure?
2x2's? 1x3's? 3 sets? 5 sets? 10 billion of them or what?
Realistically I know I've left things a bit late to do a full and proper structured training program but still feel there is time to target where I know I am weak.
The event is the Enduro World Series at Crankworx. I raced it last year and I know my descending felt fast but I had no sprint out of corners and no juice on the mid stage climbs. The stages range from 5 minutes to 28 minutes in length, the day of riding is about 50km of pedalling with 1200m of climbing.
Anyone have some interval guidance for a 37 yr masters enduro racer that hasn't done specific intervals since he was a late teens elite xc racer in the mid 90's?
