Mitering Fastback Seat Stays
My preference is for fast back seat stays, but I find mitering them by hand to be quite the pain.

I now have a lathe, and I am tooling up a fixture to hold my stays so that I can them with a hole saw.
My plan...
1. Cut the stay to the approximate length, trimming from both ends as necessary to put the taper transition where I want it.
2. Cut the miter on the lathe
3. Cut the stay to final length from the bottom and slot for the dropout
Would anyone suggest a different order of operations, or is this recommended route?
Thanks!
