Well, since someone unearthed a sock thread from 2011, I want to go on record that I no longer endorse these socks. I've owned maybe a dozen pairs of these wool socks. They get holes in the toe and heel sooner than any other sock I've owned. I've even had pairs of Swiftwick socks get holes in the ankles. WTF? I've had much better durability with wool socks from Giro and Specialized for less $$.

$20 for a 6 month sock? Fuck that. Get your shit together, Swiftwick. You're an embarrassment to my home state, the Great State of Tennessee. And that's saying a lot with Covid and The Vols and Vols fans and what passes for country music.

How did Giro get so good at making wool socks? Their thin merino are excellent and their heavier wool socks are the warmest I own. So good.

The downside for Darn Tough socks is the ankle collar. It is made for tiny people. I am not a bulky guy (I do have giant feet for my height--matches the Ape Index + 4" arms and freakish fingers), but these compress enough that I lose circulation.

I had batch of Swiftwick Pursuit merino failures (heel and toe) as well.
Called them and was informed they were aware of the problem and had reinforced said areas and sent me two pair to try out. Also was told to use up the faulty batch (10) and then send them back. Not sure if that would be for replacement or discount or what but I'm feeling hopeful about Swiftwick again. Finger crossed hard. They feel the best to me, by far.
