Yep, authorized dealers don't up charge.
It's also worth noting that Rolex does't really have their own retail stores. They may have a tiny number of corporate owned stores somewhere, I'm not sure, but pretty much all of them are independent jewelry stores that are authorized to sell Rolex. So it's a standard retail model, where the manufacturer sells at cost to the retailer and the retailer sells at (or around) MSRP to customers. The grey market, with the insanely inflated prices, only benefits the grey market.

Sea master would be my recommendation. I'm selling my other Omega cheap, but it's more of a dress watch (exactly what I need living in the mountains) than a utility watch like the Seamaster.
Everyone's talking about Rolex and I'm just over here enjoying the hell out of my G Shock square. My Zelos and Citizen are both arriving this week, likely both tomorrow actually.

Why do people feel the need to list all of their bikes in their signature?
Interesting that ebay is now offering and promoting an independent authentication service. i just noticed this today, but this could potentially lend some confidence to the sometimes sketchy world of buying used high end watches...
thoughts?

Other than not specifying who the actual authenticators are, it's seems good to the extent that you can trust eBay. Hopefully it decreases the number of people who buy a luxury watch on eBay and then run to an AD to find out if their "promised to be authentic" insert expensive automatic watch name here is supposed to have a ticking seconds hand.

nah...the good fakes have sweeping second hands now!
that's just over a 4% annualized return...you woulda done better owning the S&P 500, but i'm sure you got a lot more joy from the watch!
here's an interesting take on daytonas and subs...
Got this yesterday, number 110 out of 250. Titanium, full lume dial. No more watches, my watch box is full.

Well, yesterday I was visiting one of favorite coffee joints here in Taipei as they make the only legit chicken salad sandwich in all of Taiwan. Anyway, across the street there happens to be a Rolex dealer so I took a peek in the window after lunch. To my amazement, there was a Polar Explorer II and a 39mm Explorer 1. Usually if there are any sports watches they are either two tone or one of the models that aren't as popular like the Yacht-Master or something like that.
I've been on the list for the Explorer for a couple of years and was a little miffed, but I went in to ask about it and of course it's spoken for. They were gracious enough to let me try it on and I wouldn't say it reduced my enthusiasm for it, but I didn't leave there thinking I must have this watch. Perhaps too much build up in my time spent thinking about it, but I've also tried on this recently and it's dominated my watch thoughts since...

While I was in the shop, the saleswoman took the opportunity to show me my position on this list for this watch...she turned like 2 or three pages in her book before she pointed out my name (at least 50 people) and I've been on it for a couple years. I think I may need to move on from this.
I've recently acquired a Dan Henry 1962 Racing Chronograph
and a Timex Marlin.
Both were very lightly used. The hour and minute hands on the Dan Henry are shiny; it looks better in person than the picture. The Dan Henry is a quartz
The Marlin is just a classic design, automatic. Timex has really stepped up their game lately.
I recently moved and was able to find my collection of Simpsons digital watches that Burger King sold about twenty years ago. I only wore one of them, the Bart Simpson model. They may be the most valuable watches in my collection.
Just got back from a few days at the beach (Edisto Island, SC). Took the Swordfish on a Barton strap. No leaks! Runs about 2.5spd fast. The lume is great!
High fives after a scary trip out to the water. Our next time out we took a little tube for her to float in and she had total blast.
