I just rode the Zank up to the land of Pine Groves, milk, and honey. couple more weeks of warm and dry and we're good to go here.

Creeks here are running high with melting snow - I think it will finally be gone by early next week.

Going for a walk (ground is too wet to ride) around my place yesterday, and feeling the warmth of the sun with the cool rising up from the snow...nothing better. I'm ready.

This was Ridge rd on Thursday. Mostly clear but still had some slushy areas.

I was on Ridge Rd. today between 234 and Woodrow Rd. (the the dirt road that was the Fri PM ride 2 yrs ago) and it was totally fine. Trails on the Ridge were totally dry, Still a little muddy in the valley. There's been a fair amount of logging in that area this winter so definitely some chunkiness from the trucks.

This is west of big flat, near Milesburn rd. Just out of the picture the road was completely covered in slushy snow and ice.

A couple days at Buck Hall Campground ~ 45 min N of Charleston. Hightlight was a 46 mile white road gravel tour of the Frances Marion Nat. Forest. Flat, millions of pine trees. Spotted a dozen wild Turkeys together; a pig hunter and his son with dogs wearing armor, and only one other moving vehicle on the dirt roads. Super peaceful but no rest and pedal pedal pedal. Had a couple of awesome dinners out and some campground cooking. Nice break in the routine.

Is that a Blackstone grill? Very popular with the RV set.

I think that Blackstone name is correct, I will check in a bit. Great pull out set up with 3 lines of burners, I would rather it be a stainless top, might change that out, but it works great for anything you'd use a pan for not inclusive of sauces!

Spent some time in western MA last weekend exploring greater franklin county. whew - there are some hills out there. i envy you retired old farts, i need more time off and more miles under the tires. there is a whole world of stuff to see out there.

Two weekends ago we made a road trip to Wyoming for an art show. On the way I mentioned that I'd rather not homebase out of northern Arizona when begin our snowbird/nomadic life. We decided to build a small house with a large shop on our ten acres in Worland, Wyoming and make that our permanent home. We'd sell the AZ house after we move to Wyoming. We would eliminate paying state tax and have a lower cost of living. Since my wife is an artist, we're considering a toy hauler fifth wheel so she has a place to work. She does copper work so we have a radial arm saw and a miter to build wood frames. I'd also like a place to hang bikes. I'd travel with my gravel bike/spare road wheels and MTB. So far, I've been underwhelmed with the amenities of toy haulers. With the Wyoming setup, we have the option of wintering over or driving away before the first snow.

Anyone know anything about Burro trailers, nor atleast a reason to avoid? We found one cheap, and in need of some help. I'm a fan of the fiberglass shells, for the weight and renovation aspect: s-l640.jpg

I know nothing however that is a fantastic design for a small lightweight trailer. Kinda perfect for solo bike/flyfishing :)
