44mm plain gauge Ti Headtube stock

I am surprised to have had such a hard time finding straight 44mm Ti HT stock. Not looking for anything with machined reinforcement rings. Want to be able to cut it to length.

Any Ti builders have any leads on material like this with 43.5mm ID for post-weld reaming? Willing to do some manual machining if necessary.

It's not easy to find. You can use 1.5" Sched 40 pipe, but the OD will be a little too small to match the diameter of the upper cup of an inset style headset. Paragon used to sell the raw tube but I haven't looked for it for a while. You may also have luck in the scrap market like with NA Alloys...occasionally they'd sell the tube or a material from an earlier stage of production called "rounds" that has the right dimensions but would require some lathe time. I might have some Sched 40 left that I'm willing to part with if you can't find what you need elsewhere.
