AL, rim brakes, affordable. This speaks to me right now.

I spent some time in their shop in Berlin, I like them aesthetically a lot, also their team kits for cyclocross. Nice people too.

I've been reading a lot of 007 books by Ian Fleming. Interesting, he was not a writer, nor was he really very good at writing, however his brother was a well known (I've never heard of him) and very accomplished writer. Most of his novels were very good, I especially liked Goldfinger. I wouldn't mind owning an entire set of his007 series. Hardback and autographed of course.

He also wrote “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” which I find remarkable. Fun read for kiddos.

    You guys and your Alden's....

I bought a leather sewing machine. Need a few more tools....
I've been watching YouTube videos. Learning a lot. If we have a 2021 lockdown I will be able to keep myself busy making shoes and boots on a custom last shaped to my feet. Or maybe build a few more arch top guitars. Maybe go stir-crazy and run around the house with my arms out, making airplane noises....
    Hopefully, not another lock-down....

Maybe it's because I have a 4 year old, but I do this all the time. Feels great.

    No Josh... NOOOO!!!

Nordstrom suits are expensive and their best suits are not that high of quality.
Go over a few blocks to 4th and Pike. See Manu at Mahira's USA. Better
quality, better price and the suit will drape over you like a second skin. It takes
weeks for your suit to arrive

    BUT
    it will be YOUR suit,
not a mass-produced, high-priced piece of junk that hopefully fits everyone who is your size.

    Right on cue...
If not for French restaurants, why would we even need horses?

Bonus: I zinged the horse and the French in one shot!

I grew-up with horses. Got pretty tired of them. Now, my loopy neighbor has horses. Many of them. She will go without food to keep her animals in food, and when she calls her horses in for the evening she says, " Ponyyyyyyys" with a high-pitch lilt in her voice. She drives people crazy but I hope she doesn't move:
    1. I'm afraid of what could move in.
    2. Based on #1 , she has a level of craziness I can (barely) live with.

We had that moment of incomprehension between me (french) and my girlfriend (mexican) recently when I told her that when I see a horse I tend to imagine the sirloin or rib steak in my plate. She was eeeewwww but they have feeeeeling and I was like, yes so do do the cows and rabbits yet we eat them.

Since March, I've bought a Schiit Magni 3+, a Schiit Modi 3, and a Schiit Aegir.

What should I read to get an overview of the kind of system you're putting together?

    It's two different systems.

The Magni and Modi are for headphone listening at my desk. I'm sending the digits from Tidal or YouTube (running in a browser) to the Modi, to the Magni, to headphones. I'm enjoying the Massdrop NuForce EDC3s, for a end-to-end $300-ish system.

The Aegis is for my 2-channel system. It replaced the last-minute-inexpensive NuForce STA200 that I bought in 2018, when I realized my ancient Forte 1A was dying. I'm mostly listening to Tidal through a Sonos Connect, to an (ancient) Enlightened Audio Design DSP7000, to a Rogue RP-1 preamp, to the Aegis, to (ancient) Thiel CS1.2 speakers.

The Bifrost will replace the DSP7000, if it's as good as its fellow pieces of Schiit.
    GO!

I'll be damned if I'm paying $200 for a "casual" bike jersey, but this thing tickles my fancy.

I like it. I haven't been doing group rides for the past 15+ months, and I find myself somewhat averse to spandex at this point.
