Yo!
Looking for some tips on how everyone is ovalizing their tubing.
I've always put tubes in a vise with soft jaws and squished things into dimension. This works pretty nicely especially with larger diameter tubes but I've found that as the ellipse gets more pronounced the ends of the major axis begin to get pointy and in some cases the top of the minor axis gets flat or even a bit inverted. see attached photo.
Before I go down the road of making some fancy bending jigs I thought I'd ask if anyone else can share their method on how to make some nice ovalized tubing? How do the big factories like columbus do it for their chainstays?
