Wow that’s a find. It’s almost identical to the swing away and musa. Like the American kalashnikov.
Btw- we need more cx racing in the northeast so I can stop posting about can openers.

Why are you guys overthinking it some much? When non easy opening cans were the norms I used to have the classic can opener. More often than not, the simpler design is the better design. Those things last a lifetime, work with any can and take very little room in the kitchen drawer.
It only takes 15 to 20s to open a can with those, why would you make it more complicated?

I had this same problem. You need the can opener made by J.A. Henckels.
Zwilling, who owns Henckels, makes an identical one too.
Takes a little practice to use it, but once you understand how it works, it's pretty damned incredible. It removes the can top but doesn't leave a sharp edge. Go all the way around the lid, lift up and then turn the crank the opposite way to spit off the can top. Highly recommend it.

The EZ-Duz-It was the winner on a recent episode of America's Test Kitchen.
Also the pick of NYT's Wirecutter: https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/r...st-can-opener/
And here we are, 29 posts in, with only right-handed gizmos offered.

I grew up in a household of lefties, with only my Mother and I being not of the sinister (left in Latin) hand..four others. Imagine my bewilderment playing baseball as a kid, when my LL coach asked me why I was batting leftie and throwing right handed. I also never new that my check marks were leftie, until a nun corrected me of course.

I spent three years getting chastised for writing wrong (and switched to left handed writing in third grade). I still use scissors and frisbees right-handed, and can live with wrong-handed can openers, but archery, shooting, darts and anything involving a ball is a left-dominant pursuit. Left-front braking makes sense to me as well. All the motorbikes are backwards....
