Re: What are you Listening to right now?
They kinda snuck up on me. I honestly don't remember what got them in my queue (Taylor maybe. Yes my daughter insisted I really listen to Ms. Swift and yes she is spectacularly talented.) but I kept returning to them until something really clicked.
I still can't figure out why I find them so captivating. Maybe that's partially why I do!

Ryan Adams' version of Swift's 1989 was like a frequency shifter for me. I still have trouble hearing Swift's music. Very bright and treble. But lowered a bit by Adams I could tell that there is a there there.
Here's one for all the dads in the back row!

Never thought I’d like hip hop, but this came up in an Amazon Music suggestion (after listening to some acid jazz).

I finally started watching “Get Back” yesterday and I’m really, really into it. It’s a unique blend of the mundane and utterly sublime.
A few scenes have nearly reduced me to tears as these songs are literally being born in front of the cameras. Highly recommended!

Is there a way to watch Get Back without the full subscription to Disney+? I'd love to watch it, but I don't think I have must interest in the rest of the D+ products.

Not currently. But if you did a 1 month subscription to Disney+ for $7.99 and found at least 1 other thing to watch, you are probably doing OK.

Yep, or about $13 to also add ESPN+ and Hulu.
We have kids and I'm a sports fan so it's one of our regulars. But if you want it for a month, there are worse things to have: Beatles, great new Cousteau docu, Nat Geo,last year's Air Jordan series, all the Marvel stuff, Star Wars, etc.

Allison Russell’s new one is great. I’m a big fan of Birds of Chicago so always happy to see her surface as a solo act.

I've seen them twice (Birds) in Ann Arbor at a folk music venue called "The Ark." I like them too. The first time I saw them they were performing at the big fund raising concert (Ann Arbor Folk Festival) along with John Prine and others. All the performers jumped on the stage at the end of the show to sing and play a jam session version of Paradise. It was a special human moment and the affection the musicians all head for John was heart warming. Thanks for pointing out the new album from Allison. It's nice.
Have a fun ride

From left field: I'm listening to Bill Bryson's "The Body" right now. I do this stuff for a living, and it's very good.

Stumbled upon this via Spotify. Really dig it. The version with G Love is even better.

True, but even moreso the older he gets: The stuff he was playing when he first appeared on the scene was quite impressive from a chops perspective...but the stuff he's been playing these last few years is admirably impressive from a mature, musical depth perspective...while still displaying his signature mind-blowing chops. It's comforting to see a world-class musician who actually gets better with age.
