    Standard with a manual.

I know it's unrealistic, but I would love it even more if they opted for a normally aspirated and higher-revving 6. I guess cars are too heavy now and we are too power-hungry to allow for that.

Nice lust choice. I think we're entering the next and last golden era of the internal combustion engine. Grab one of these while you can. When and if supply chain issues ease off, I have my eyes on a GT4. Ticks all the boxes. NASP, manual, and trackable off the dealer lot with few modifications.

I agree Lou. I have said to my wife that the next new car we buy has to be electric/hybrid, but if the kids get decent college aid and there is a bit left in the slush fund, I wouldn't feel as guilty keeping a fun, manual gasser in the garage for weekends and road trips. DD will definitely be moving away from fossil fuels.

Is there a comparison somewhere of the full lifecycle of gas vs electric vs hybrid?
Volvo did an analysis of this...

Anybody have any experience with the BMW 430/440 hatchbacks? Just wondering about practicality of those vs. a wagon. Thanks.

I think this is the motor used in it. Maybe Bob and Finn can put one in their next project.

$196k, nice truck but no thanks.

BAT is cool but the prices are so often a no-go.

I with you 100%. I think this is really cool. But I need some burnable money to do this first. Doubt the process is plug-and-play by a long (long) shot, so probably eats cash like a caffeinated chipmunk.

In general EV conversions are more straightforward than you might think. The drivetrain in an EV really isn't much more complicated than the one in an RC car. Companies like EV west for example have pretty comprehensive kits for older cars. There are a couple companies that'll even sell you chassis suitable for a bodyswap.

The tough bit for a truck is going to be the battery. The default approach for a lot of DIY guys is to rehouse either Tesla or Volt batteries because they're readily available. But to have enough useable range for a fullsize truck is going to mean a lot of batteries and weight.

GM and Ford are actually going to be rolling out some ev conversion stuff in the near future. Both unveiled some cool projects in the last couple months. Once the EV truck parts start to become available on the second hand market in a few years we'll see a lot of stuff being done in this space.

I do like the sound of a good exhaust, but I also like the idea of no longer using the old 350 ci pollution pump.

Neighbor went for a two-toned Mercedes Maybach GLS. It's big, but the back seats are like flying in first class.

You can get the same type of backseats in the RR Cullinan. They call it immersive seating.
