    The radio.
KNTU, the Jazz Station, in Denton.
It is good to listen to the radio.
New stuff comes up that you would never normally listen to.
    Tonight was mostly female vocalists
Some great singing and some good melodic ideas.
Radio is under rated. Don't lose it.

YT suggested the live footage of Dave Grohl inviting an 11-year-old girl onstage to drum Everlong with the band (spoiler: she brings the house down). The Foo Fighters are not in my normal rotation but I did listen and watch all the way to the end.

KPIG online. Last night I stumbled across the HOME benefit on Youtube - Austin Texas music community fundraiser to help out older musicians and entertainers with housing. Pretty good all star lineup. I didn't realize how good the Band of Heathens is.

It does not take so many notes, but it is the way he plays them that is so interesting.
Wistful in a way. Just the music. No showing off of technique.
This CD was recorded only a couple weeks before he fell off the hotel in Amsterdam to his death.

There is another concert CD, from Tokyo, recorded not long before, that is also awesome.
In addition to the essence of the songs, he also can still play the fast exciting stuff that he played when he was young, just with more to it.
And what a great sound he gets ! Something to strive for.

There are lots of really great t r u m p e t players out there, but Chet was someone special.
    An inspiration indeed.

Sorry, but the VS site changes "Bloviated Former Presidentet" to "bloviated president" then tacks the et on the end every time i type it So, I put the spaces in to get around the automatic editor.
I happened to work on Let's Get Lost. Long story.

Chet played a concert at Cannes. A Frenchman working the door told me he could only listen to Chet live, because otherwise it was too depressing.

First time I've seen an orchestra where the woodwind & brass players were masked! That's gotta suck...

I’ve been heavy into Spotify while painting a couple of the bedrooms over the holidays…Chris Issak and his reverb makes today’s cut.

In my life my music tastes have only "transitioned" three times, but never left any of the old ones behind. Southern rock/blues to traditional or classic pop to smooth jazz in the past 6 months to a year. A new discovery for me, Melody Gardot:

don't know how to embed it. sorry. Hah...guess I do!

Melody Gardot...I'm not even a fan of jazz; I just want that voice to wash over me like a warm morning on the beach.

She may be the best excuse I can think of to upgrade audio speakers.

there's a longer full film posted on their channel as well. The "room" is a set, nice piece of production.

I just learned of the passing of Jewlia Eisenberg. She was a tremendous vocalist and artist.

I can't help but smile when I listen to Gregory Porter. I have tickets to see him in February- Covid permitting.

Julian Lage, Squint. If you don't know Jules, you are in for a treat. He's a virtuoso on electric and acoustic guitar, truly one of a kind.
