Default Pet barrier + liner for Cars/SUVs

    Heya,

    I have a Mazda 3 hatch.
She has a Mazda CX-5 SUV thing.
    Together we have a 70lb Pit/Golden and a 9lb Chihuahua/Pomeranian.
Both dogs would prefer to sit on our laps.
We would prefer to protect our leather seats.

I don't have any problem using one of the $40 combo liner-barriers you can find on Amazon but she abhors the feel/sound of that 600 denier heavy duty nylon stuff that most these things seem to be made out of. There is no compromise for this one. To her, that material is like nails on a chalkboard.

Before I go spend time cutting/sewing a moving blanket and adding grommets I wanted to ask if anyone has seen a product that isn't made from that material? (That also doesn't cost $200).

-- FTR: She's already nixed the cotton duck Carhartt liner.

    Thanks

I had a Dickies branded seat cover in my old truck. It was a heavy duty material similar to what you would find in a heavy duty work pants/jacket. on my seats for years and held up great. they make a bench version that looks easy to modify to your needs? pretty cheap.

You don't want to create livestock/bad-child class seating?

I’ve used this Orvis liner for the past decade. It has outlasted several cars in that time.

For reference, my dog is 60lb. He’s a senior citizen now, but in his youth he ate his way through more than one center console to reach a dropped toy, yet the Orvis seat cover is still kicking.

Bought an Orvis pet couch cover for the sofa, very nice bit of kit.
Lots of clever automobile dog covers, mobile dog showers and dog adventure wear.
    REI for dogs.

And you get the printed Orvis Dog catalog, many times a year.

    I totally forgot about Orvis.

Thank you all. That looks like the ticket!

Yeah, this is how we roll! She will stay like this for a few and then lay back down.

I've got this, and a hard plastic liner. A little slippery, but it also encourages two muddy huskies to sit the f down. Liner pops right out, hoses down easy. No more fur on every inch of the cabin. My living room is another problem altogether…

I think the OP needs a vehicle dedicated to the job:
