Absolutely wonderful machine.
    Does it have hard bags?

OK...looks like I'm getting new rings (compression leak down test on right side no good), along with new push rod seals, new oil pan gasket, and new shift lever bearings.

Good news is this thing should be pretty set for a while.

Pretty happy to have this machine in the hands of Rick, a fantastic and highly experienced mechanic.

Looking forward to getting it back at the end of next week just in time for the shitty weather to start to improve...Monday's high temp supposed to be below 30 degrees.

I do have the original leather "hard" bags on the Ducati. I did the cross-country trip on a KTM 1290 with Jesse cases.

I REALLY want to test ride a big Duc.
FWIIW I have the same Jesse bags. I think they are legitimate secondary crash protection!

I tipped on the KTM in the middle of nowhere near the CA/OR border coming to a stop to take pix, the Jesses and the front crash bar kept me from getting pinned to the ground to basically no visible effect on the box.

Lol. 29 in inseam. I once had a Bimmer dealer give me a Triumph Tiger as a loaner bike while my K1200rs was in the shop. Never again. Can run chase in the 911 if you want, and swap at the end if you want to try the aircooled experience.
The Duc's prior owner was 6'4 so its set up ok for you, bar risers and lowered footpegs. The rear preload is externally adjustable with a knob (gotta love Ohlins). Shoot me a pm or email before you head down-I have a cabin on the property that you can stay in most weekdays if it gets to be a long day (Langley Cottage on insta ).

Thanks G. I'll be in touch this summer at some point. The region is just the best for Moto riding.

The previous owner of our property had a son that does that sort of work-he found the logs from a teardown in Green Co Va. (stored in a barn). Native white oak, probably circa 1800. He used them to reconstruct the single room cabin-pine flooring and ceiling, copper roof, dry stack chimney/fireplace. Built circa 2000-the owners used it as a vacation home from their main house in Atlanta until they had the main house built in 2007.
