    Default Inflammation in the Body

Over the past few years I've been hearing more and more about the negative health consequences of inflammation, but I haven't taken the time to learn more.

Can anyone point me toward a basic primer on the state of knowledge?

I'd like to learn why it's so bad, what causes it, and what an ordinary person can do about it.

Dr. Andrew Weil is huge on inflammation as being a cause of many diseases. He's big on avoiding processed sugar, meat(sured meats in particular) and following a Mediterranean diet. Inflammation in the body is a normal and healthy response to injury or attack by germs. And while the response may be necessary it might be better for the body not to need to do this response.

    I'd start with his website
