I've done that as well, and it does work, but, I like tucking it better. The keepers are sized to allow the strap to tuck back, when you don't the free end of the strap rattles around a bit. And I find it just looks tidier overall tucked back. I used to cut all my straps to length, but I quit doing it.

I picked this up in a Black Friday deal, dig it. Running about 1.5spd fast thus far. Looks great with the green Erika's strap.
Also, tomorrow I'm picking my BB58 back up from an AD after having the caseback engraved and adding the Ranger bracelet to it. The Ranger bracelet fits perfectly and solves my complaints about the stock bracelet - it has a quick adjust clasp, no fake rivets, and no stepped taper. Can't wait to have it back.

whaaaaaaat? seriously? you've got my attention now. not that i dislike the BB58 bracelet, and also have an Easy Link attached, but the clasp....man, i could go for that.
i can't remember if i ever post pictures of the caseback on my 58 and wifey's 32...got them engraved to celebrate our 10yr anniversary.

Yep! Basically the Ranger is the same case as the BB58 but with a fixed bezel. So the bracelet doesn't just fit the BB58, it fits *perfectly*.
There's some pics on WatchUSeek too, but here's two (too short) clips ::

Ranger bracelet on the BB58 - the nearly perfect watch. My only real complaint about the clasp is that you have to take the watch off your wrist to adjust it. But it does look and wear great - it's not too long, and it's not too thick. Size matters. Also, the corners on the opposite end from the safety catch are pretty frickin' sharp, I'm going to knock those down just a touch so I don't scratch my kid or nephew when playing with them.

I think that clasp might be as wide as my wrist.

ALPINER REGULATOR AUTOMATIC AL-650NNS5E6
I have been thinking about this watch for months but never pulled the trigger until now because...
I saw it at 50% off and passed.
I saw it at 60% off (on a newer and higher MSRP) and passed.
I saw it at 75% off (on a newer and higher MSRP) and bought it.
It is different from anything else I own so I thought why not try it out. Technically it is 45mm but wears so much smaller more like a 40/42mm watch. It's thinner than most sports watches as well.

On the affordable side, this watch has caught my attention:

Yep, Tudor AD. I didn’t walk in, I called, err, emailed actually. They couldn’t give me an ETA on when it would arrive but they were happy to take the order.

There's a bunch. Casio, Seiko, Citizen all make on the fly adjustable clasps that don't require opening the clasp. Here's two examples:

I wish I could quit the Alpina/Citizen/Frederique Constant special sales because I have way too many watches and many of them do not get worn often enough.
(I have a problem and I need help.)
Picked these up recently...
Alpina STARTIMER PILOT QUARTZ AL-240S4S6B (at 75% off MSRP)
Frederique Constant HIGHLIFE AUTOMATIC COSC CERTIFIED FC-303S4NH6 (at 50% off MSRP)
It came with the black leather and black nylon/rubber straps. I ordered the metal bracelet even though I am not always a fan of polished links (but it is technically a thin dress watch).
That Alpina works for my eye. Sapphire crystal and $350ish?
Dan Fuller, local bicycle enthusiast
Brand new, sapphire crystal, quartz movement (never worry about setting the time), bright white legible dial, metal bracelet, and factory warranty (because I purchased it from an official dealer).
I paid less than $350 and it can be yours (or anyone's) for even less than that with shipping included.
(I'll send actual pics if you really want it)
