It's baffling why such a charge is leveled at a fellow forumite, in particular when the alleged transgression is a 2.0L turbo station wagon that isn't even the worst offender out there.
If such a vehicle leads to "a heavy dose of global warming", the same could basically be said for the vehicles posted in overwhelming majority of previous posts, whether forumite's own vehicle or that of another.
Furthermore, it's quite the cognitive dissonance for someone to take on the remit of the CO2 emissions enforcer, only to acknowledge just a few posts above an active interest in motor sport racing (which is a non-essential pursuit primarily performed to entertain and burns fuel a lot more inefficiently than a station wagon, with the added bonus of generating rubber waste at a rate vastly exceeding daily usage)
You are reading way too much into it. I was just adding a bit of balance to the sentence above my post which I felt was an overdose of positive points!

2000 4 liter Jaguar XK8 convertible. Easily attainable, 90,000 miles on it, automatic trans, for sale four blocks away. Despite being my second least favorite color (out-done only by black), this vehicle speaks to me. New paint, perfect top, and 9.5/10 interior. Now I'm looking at specimens from Portland and Washington.
I'm more interested in sleeping on the ground and burying my shit in the dirt like a cat. But that desire can be easily appeased. Automotive lust, however, deserves an entirely different approach.
Please advise.

90k on a Jag? Are full service records available? It’s lived 4/9 lives, maybe 5.
Or “what could possibly go wrong”?

If anyone is coming to Pittsburgh for the Vintage Grand Prix in July, hit me up for a bike ride and a beer. 22-23 July for the vintage races in Schenley Park and the Shelbys race the previous weekend at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex near the airport. My favorite event is the Walnut Street Invitational Show on 17 July.
