Here is my Bierstadt moment from today. We were fishing in the second meadow on Slough Creek in Yellowstone and the atmospherics cooperated.

1) That's too bad.
2) Good luck if you decide to help out.
When I was a kid I found a caterpillar crawling around outside on some plants. I brought it inside, put it in a large jar (added holes to the top) and fed it fresh leaves of the type it was eating. It eventually formed a cocoon / chrysalis (I was just a kid and didn't know the difference) and I assumed a butterfly would eventually emerge. I was a bit disappointed when it turned out to be a waspish / moth looking thing, but it was alive, so I released it outside and it flew off to continue the cycle.
Current one and done front yard cactus flower, opens at night by the next day its starting to die, 8"+- diameter. I haven't noticed such feathery edges on the flowers before, a couple of more ready to pop on the same plant, I'll make sure to check.

Mr. Bob,
Is that a snow capped peak on the centre right horizon or some cloud?

In my hometown, reported to be the only bowstring bridge still in use. Pedestrians and bikes only though.
72gmc’s haunt…near the ASUW shell house at the University of Washington, on Lake Washington. Quite a storied history of the building and mentioned quite often in the book The Boys in the Boat.
