this summer, a batch of the cabins along Bear Meadows road in Rothrock were for sale at once. I think they sold before I could tell my wife about them. Would be nice to have a cabin that close, probably 10 minutes from my house, 20 by bike. Plus they have electricity. I think by July/August the romance with having a cabin is over because it's hot, humid, and buggy up there. The other 9 months of the year it would be pretty nice though.

Was just reading this article in NYTimes about fire spotters. I remember hiking past one of these huts with my dad when I was a youngster and thinking yeah I want to live in one of those. Can't remember where that was but this photo captures the appeal for me.
