Around 187 degrees is ideal for me. Great temp to löyly (generate steam by slashing the rocks with water). At the temp last night the steam was gone quickly, so it was a very dry sauna feel.

Someone finally explained the Himalayan Salt blocks in the Sauna for me. The humidity in the sauna goes into the salt and is suppose to release ionized particles which help purify the air in the sauna.

These also heat up and help keep the temp in the sauna stable.

We are back to doing this in conjunction with the ice bath.

    Talk about a dopamine hit

The fire and ice cycle is the best thing there is. Wish I had daily access to it.

Josh, ban me if this is disallowed, but I figured this would be a better place than the FS thread. If anyone in driving distance of DC is looking for a sauna - I've got a deal for you. We're moving and abandoning the rural retreat and I need to rehome my sauna. DM for details!

This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the bike.

It works well. We get it down to 2C with a fair bit of ice. As long as you keep adding a little ice, it stays cold.
