I know some here can help me with this minor dilemma:
I recently ran out of Williams shaving soap, and it looks as though it is not produced any more. I'd like something similar to replace it with. I'd really prefer something unscented if possible.

Bad news, it's very hard to find great quality no-scent shaving soap. Kiss My Face unscented work, full stop. It does not lather well using a brush and that was bummer for myself BUT I'm learning to be adaptable these days.

This will have to do until I find a replacement.
FWIIW If you scour the nasty bottom shelves of old drug stores you can have some luck finding Williams.

Himalaya soap.
although I know you don't want scent, I prefer hard sandalwood soap.
Taylor of Bond Street, you should be able to get it online.
We sell an olive oil soap with very little fragrance but good moisturizing and clean rinses. We also have a eucalyptus bar that some tall people rave about. Everything we make is all natural with no animal products. My favorite is Peppermint Scrub which has Himalayan salt, Epsom salt for better suds, and peppermint essential oil. I shower, wash my hair, and shave with it. I'm sure we could cut the bars to fit a shaving mug.

I typically use whatever bar shaving soap that is on the shelves wherever I can find it, but I also use Cremo Shaving Cream. The Cremo, being a cream, doesn't lather up like the bar soap does and can be difficult to rinse out of a multi blade razor, but it gives a close shave.

The English language is a bugger.
Wears the soap?
Where's the soap?
Wears the soap?
Hard to hold anyone accountable considering.

What is wrong with regular soap? I've been using that for decades.

The COO said she will make some prototype mugs this week. She's teaching ceramics this semester at the community college. We also have our own kiln.

After she makes some mugs and paints them, we will give salonistas the first dibs. She has made shaving mugs in the past and will offer some kind of package with a mug, soap, and a brush.

She'll also have the round soaps for cups. The mugs will be cool with wildlife paintings, or Egyptian figures, or trout, or horses, or anything you think of.

I would have to get in that line too.
There was a place in Scottsdale that sold an insane variety of shaving soaps but they are winding down to retirement.
I used to stock up for the year, that source seems to be gone so now I have to find (or have found) a new dealer ……
Newb: So what makes a soap a "shaving" soap? More suds/lather? Some sort of lubricant?
I'm a simple simple man and have pretty much just used Grandpa's pine tar soap for everything the past ten years or so.

Shower, washing hands, hair (what little I have) an even shaving (done post shower 90% of the time). Now I feel like I'm missing out on something - although with the fear it will double the complexity and product requirements of my paltry grooming routine. If a Velocipedian is selling a life changing product (like NixFrixshun was/is), I want in.
