Cicada Brood XIX
Anyone else listening to these guys right now? It's pretty wild. First time I heard them was 13 years ago, last time they came out, in Augusta, GA. I drove out to some MTB trails in the National Forest, windows down, radio up, got there and turned the car off and the noise hit me. It sounded like a guy running a chainsaw just down the street....but it was coming from EVERYWHERE.
They live underground for 13 years. Come out, molt, make noise and mate, lay eggs and die.
Lots of molted shells if you look around.
Little lady is loving the spectacle of it all, which is fun.
Here's how baby cicadas are made.
VOLUME UP!!! (it doesn't translate to computer/phone audio - it's not the same as being there in person)

Why do people feel the need to list all of their bikes in their signature?

Re: Cicada Brood XIX
I like when the animals take over. As long as they are not causing me to take a course of some kind of antibiotic for weeks and months. Or chewing my leg off.
