I listen to my lists on Spotify at home and in the truck and watch documentaries on Prime and Netflix. The only Christmas stuff is the required viewing of Christmas Vacation.

It takes a courageous person to swim against the tide of giving and getting presents on the coming holiday.
But it is the right thing to do.
It's like this here and I'm ok with that.

My negative feelings towards Christmas started in the Summer, specifically 29 June. That’s when my regularly scheduled programs were disrupted, as the Hallmark Channel kicked off their Christmas in July marathon.

hey, how lucky can one man get.
We're moving to a small town in Wyoming in the spring. They don't do any Christmas stuff until the second week of December. My kind of people.

In the Dorptown people have their tasteless plastic blow up Christmas lawn ornaments out already. That's how I know Thanksgiving is sometime in the next few weeks.

Every year, these characters become more relatable.

If the process is more important than the result, you play. If the result is more important than the process, you work.
Christmas decorations are in the aisles of all the big box stores before Halloween and I can see trees already up in houses. TREES ALREADY UP IN HOUSES!!!!! I don't usually come here to yell but WTF?
Technically, those are in the aisles back in September.
It's probably just me, but I like seeing Christmas decorations for extended period of time.
November to February is usually filled with dreary weather in the Upper Midwest, and I find it nice to see houses lit up, in particular the tastefully decorated ones.
Of course, there are a lot of kitschy decorations, and I particularly find too many red bulbs (and to a lesser extent green bulbs) to be annoying, but the others make up for those with no sense of aesthetics.
Christmas Eve is three weeks after Thanksgiving weekend. My son is here for Thanksgiving and we're traveling to PHX to spend it with friends. I say friends because family Thanksgivings are too stressful. I don't expect to have a tree here this year for Christmas. We're getting rid of stuff in preparation for moving to Wyoming in the spring. All that Xmas stuff will stay boxed up. We'll go nuts next year.

We’re relocating, so the missus wants to go to Christkindlmarket this weekend for one last time.
Who am I to say no?

I had a stepsister in Mexico City and her husband was German. His family migrated to Mexico from Germany in the late 1930s. The German community in Mexico City is tight and midnight mass at the Lutheran Church was amazing. The tree didn't go up until the morning of the 24th and it came down on the afternoon of the 25th. Christmas was best described as intense, with mass, a special dinner of fish, and presents around the tree. The tree had lit candles which made my submarine sailor brain itch. Mexico City had many Christmas markets where you could buy everything you need including fresh fish, flowers, and small toys for kid's stockings. It was always a fun visit.

While you couch it in terms of one last Christmas Market (presumably the one in Chicago), all I read is that you now have a perfectly valid reason to visit Cologne, Munich, or Berlin in winter.
Yes, the weather is dreary and you probably can't do much riding, but it's such a worthwhile experience.
Regardless, best of wishes with your upcoming move.
Is this a reaction to all the "10% OFF!!" sales going on right now? You know what 10% off is called? Regular pricing!!
Please list names of best Chinese restaurant open on 12/25 in your neighborhood here:
Mine used to be Jing Fong. It wasn't the best but it was huge. And on 12/25 in NYC it was full. The place closed and now they have reopened in a (much) smaller place and eating dim sum in a restaurant smaller than a football field just doesn't feel the same.
Nom Wah is okay too.
