In early April 2022, I noticed my bottle of NFS (appearing to) approach empty. I proceeded to order a replacement bottle, said order having been promptly fulfilled. Upon receipt of the new bottle, I placed it behind the old bottle, expecting to swap them out soon. Seeing as I believe in keeping my junk clean and well lubricated at all times, I figured it wouldn't be long before the swap.

Fast forward to today, and I still have not placed the new bottle into service. I feel sucker punched. It's almost as if NFS is too good. Almost.

    Chapeau!
Yer killin' me!!! At trade shows it is common for current customers to catch my eye and gesture with their fingers a visual of how much NFS is left in their bottles they bought from past trade shows. That gives me a grin too.

When I finished my first bottle, it felt like a massive accomplishment. Weird, huh?

TooT, for offroad touring/bikepacking would you recommend the GG or BD? I try to keep my paved sections as short as possible, so it's ~80% forest roads/gravel/sand/dirt roads.

Blue Devil would be my first choice for dusty/gravel.

    Have fun :)

Josh, I was over at Silca looking to get a new gasket for my pump and saw the Pump Blood. I'm assuming it is a different beast than the regular ole NFS that I have right?

Correct. I stopped making for them ages ago. NFS Ultimate is good stuff for these sorts of pumps. Don't recycle your used motor oil!!!

When I get to Wyoming and set up my new bike space, I'll throw some money at NFS. I've been using NAPA white lithium on most things. In the Navy, we used 24508 ball bearing grease which was red. Red grease is faster.

    It would be battery acid.

Mil Spec grease for this and that. I used to pester the heck out of the salesmen who visited the mine. Grease for big machines is rocket science.

    Red is fast.

A game changer for me was finding a part number for one pound cans. When we'd grease the bearings on a piece of noise quieted equipment, you had to open a new can of grease each time. For the longest time all I could get was 5 pound cans which meant we'd have to grease almost every motor on the same day to not waste grease. One pound of grease will take care of two 320mm bearings. When I started my first job after the Navy, I saw mechanics pumping grease through fittings into ball and roller bearings until it squirted out the seal. We had some training.

    Quite.

I had no idea how beat down that gasket was until I pumped up a tire with the new one installed.
