I think this is a good place to post this stuff. I have been painting abstractly for years (1996 BFA) and find it a great complement to the Cycling Analysis I do for the day job at Get a Grip Cycles.
A quick shot of a painting I created that was sold to benefit my kid's school.
Acrylic and oil, 18" square.
that's funny.....I also have a BFA 1996
I prefer sculpture, but here is a painting from my car racing days

Nice work...palette knife?
Thanks....yup....pretty much palette knife except for the trees. It's oil on canvas, something like 3'x5'
Great thread- love seeing how good some of us are...wow! The car painting is great.
No BFA for me- wish I had though...
a couple more.......

Those cars are great! Love it.
Wow, nice work people. I also got a BFA in illustration in 1997... and primarily paint watercolors.
Like these cityscape paintings.
I painted this back in college (BA, 1993) for a project on pop art. It's inspired by James Rosenquist's "I Love You With My Ford." Stray Cats were playing in my head when I put brush to canvas ... Campagnolo, Cadillac and legs from Tai Collins, who's famous for having an affair with Governor Robb of VA back in the 80s.
"Built for Speed," Oil on Canvas, 1992
That is awesome...^^^ so many things work for me
.....for some reason I never painted any cars.....just illustrations(a lot of illustrations).....actually made a little bit of coin doing commissions for my racing buddies

actually....now that I think about it........the first one I did was the beetle. My father was talking about all of the fun cars he had before the kids came, but had no pictures, so I started drawing my cars....starting with my '57 beetle
I grew up ogling my Dad's Hot Rod magazines and drawing pictures of (mostly) Chevys. Some Ed Rothed-out. Mostly draw/paint bike related stuff since, but my production level has dropped since kids are growing. I need to get back in the groove and paint. Here are some oldies:
I have always lovedyour work- it is sometimes Vargas and sometimes (sort of) rockwell with the nostalgia...
I want the lady on the bike..... not just the picture...
The bears make me smile. I like things that make me smile. Well done.
