English wheel source?

Anyone aware of someone that can do custom fenders on an English wheel? Preferably someone in New England, but happy to work over the phone/web.

Small wheels are not that expensive (<$1K for the good stuff) nor that hard to figure out. Add that to the talent you already have on your floor and you could be rocking your own stuff easy. If you want ribbed (for your pleasure), then you need a wheel with more ooomph, but for thin gauge aluminum, I think you could still get away with a bench mount unit.

Thanks Don. do you have a specific brand or model that you'd recommend? Not sure that this is something that we'd get a lot of use out of, but it'd sure be fun to play, and he who has the most tools wins.

Check out Van Sant english wheel on Tricktools.com they kick ass. the tools they make in-house are very affordable & very nice people. they have "free shipping' days - I'd ask. They made my top tube roller & it is just one of the best tools ever. if I was near you I'd split one just to get to F with it! - Garro.

If you are going to be rolling bicycle fenders you may want look at building more of a hand crank machine with shaped dies (think gutter machine style) I'm trying imagine shaping the tight radius of a bike fender on an english wheel and I'm not coming up with anything.

I hear you, but what I'm trying to do is not a typical full coverage bike fender, and will be a one off both front and rear. A small english wheel should do the trick. And I just want one to play with, but will probably have a skilled person make the fenders.
