I've come to terms with it. I'm a batch kinda guy.
Go J-Pow!
Gavin Bannerman from the Queensland state library and I visited Eric Hendren yesterday.
Eric started work at Hoffy Cycles owned and run by Bill Hoffman in 1943 as a 14 year old lad
he walked away from the shop in 1996 after 54 years.
He took over the shop after Bill died suddenly in the shop in 1972.
They built every bike that was sold in the shop, from kids bikes to racing bikes till the mid 1970s
It was treat to visit Eric who gave me a start when I was 16 yo

it was a special treat for me when Eric pulled out one of his racing frame build log books
and number 1078 road frame for $190 (1979) made for McCulloch.
It was my first custom frame, I ordered it 12 months before I started work for Eric

I spent 6 and half years with Eric, till I moved on to different pastures which is what young lads do
Eric took an interest in my casting collection. We recounted the days of sand cast fork crowns, BB shells, lugs and then pressed lugs and we chatted about 3D CAD and rapids and investment castings. Italian investment cast crowns and lugs and BB shells were just arriving when I started work at Hoffy cycles.

This week I started two touring bikes

The rock star is dying. And it's a small tragedy. Rock stars have blogs now. I have no use for that kind of rock star.

Not much shop time going on in sunny Fla this week...
1. I acquired a new to me water bottle bo drilling fixture
2. Sprayed some HOK test panels.
3. Mitered tubes for the next track bike.
