    Default OT: Favorite Local NY Waterfalls After The Rains

    After the torrential downpours this week, I decided to take a hike to visit some of my favorite local NY waterfalls - Stony Kill and Awosting Falls in the Gunks, and Hanging Rock Falls in the Catskill Foothills. Let's hear it for Gore Tex hiking boots!

    I think that I've been to Stony Kill Falls. A friend of a friend lived in New Paltz for a while and she took a few of us there. Cool to see it like this. Also strange to be watching it after seeing all of this tsunami footage--that's nature for you.
