I would also recommend the Seiko divers- I have a Black Monster that I wear every day and it's a fantastic watch. I'd really like to get one of the Tuna Can Seikos one day. I also used to have an Oris Big Crown Commander and I liked that watch a lot.
My favorite watch to date has been my Breitling Avenger Seawolf Titanium. It's about as indestructible as watches get, has a 5mm thick Sapphire crystal, depth rating of 10,000 ft. and is very accurate. It's too bad it's no longer offered in Titanium.
As far as upper end watches go here's a couple of Paul Gerber watches. Paul is probably one of the most respected watchmakers in the world (and he's a super nice guy too.) His small shop makes maybe 50 or so watches each year and he's in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most complicated wristwatch in the world (over 1100 parts)- the self-striking repeater Piguet split second chronograph with fly-back function, flying tourbillion, jumping minute counter and a power reserve indicator for both the movement and chiming mechanism.
This model is the Retro Twin in 18k yellow Gold with twin rotor winding system and fly back second hand.
This is the Model 33 in 18K white Gold- a 100% in house movement with moon phase, 36 hour power reserve and a new escapement design.
Paul is coming to visit at the end of the month and will be bringing a couple of new watches with him. :)
Like xjoex, I mostly wear my Swiss Army original, but I still love the lines of my +15 yr old W1 chrono that my lady bought for me duty free on our Bahamian honeymoon.
Still looking for the MKII. I'm after a LRRP Millsub with date - seems to be a rare beast. Here is a pilfered pic, difference being I want HRV (after the screwbars so I be uber-secure on a NATO). Second pic is better, but with wrong dial.

Reason: forgot pic
I'm not a watch guy by any stretch and usually roll with an Ironman with a rubber band where the excess strap loop used to be. Very pro, I know. But in looking around for something I can ride to work in that also works with a suit, I ended up with one of these Nixons. I don't know if it's my Catholic school upbringing or the memories of taking the train to Penn Station everyday for 2 years, but I'm a big fan of institutional looking white clock faces. We have a few in our house and now one on my wrist.
Howevah, the band ain't going to cut it and I'm going to buy a replacement or two, NATO-style, like Musgrave's above. Most of the webfronts are Asia based, so if anyone has a line on an American made nylon strap company, I'd welcome your suggestions.
I'm also really liking Halios watches- they appear to be an excellent value. The first model that was made was the Holotype which was limited to 300 units total production and they sold for something like $300.00 each. Pretty sure every model since then has sold out really fast. http://halioswatches.com
Big old thumbs up for Maratac. I have an Elite Series Composite Strap on order for Jason's watch. Yes, it's still Jason's watch he has first right of return.
Anyone have expierence with the Omega titanium's? I looked at a discontinued model that had a fair discount this evening. Ti case and band. I have to admit that it was pretty cool as well as being A LOT lighter than my Rolex.

The Ti Seamaster is a great all around watch- you can't go wrong with it. Used to sell lots of them.
Checked out a local jewelry store that carried Ball timepieces. Very nice looking and from what I can find pretty reputable stuff. anyone have any expierence with them?
I don't know the Omega, but I love my IWC GTS in Ti. Oddly light compared to my other watches (Sinn 142 as pictured & 956 and an Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow and Aqua Terra). It was my first nice watch, and they've since been discontinued, but if you keep an eye out they pop up at reasonable prices.
