Re: Garment Steamer Reccomendations?
And iron as a steamer really doesn't cut it. My experience with all the handhelds is that they shoot long (12-15ft) jets of hot water, but that's not really useful, right? Hotboxing the bathroom by running the shower is just wasteful.
If you've got the space, go for the real deal. Small water tank at the base, long rod for hanging the garment in front of you. Roll it into the closet.
For things like jacket sleeves, you'll get better results by stuffing the sleeve with newspaper/craft paper before steaming. Steam, pull, steam, pull. While the garment cools, shape the it the way it is intended to fall. Hang pants by the cuffs when you're not wearing them. The weight of the pant will take out most wrinkles and only a light steaming may be necessary.
Steaming can take odor out, save you from trips to the dry cleaners, and lengthen the life of the clothing. Best for removing odor- 1 part vodka, 9 parts water.
