I recently ripped the elbow on my trusty gray Brooks Brothers crew neck sweatshirt (I know, Brooks Brothers for a sweatshirt, but its perfect in every way) and have been unable to find an adequate replacement.

My compliments to the author. Or should I say, chapeau.

I passed them on. He was pleased.

I got a personal moment of glory in his Complete and Utter Failure - Perversely, I feature in his brief discussion of perfection!

My favorite of his books is still his first - If at All Possible, Involve a Cow: The Book of College Pranks - although it bummed me out that he chose not to relate the story of our one and only great prank, staging an assassination attempt at the climax of an all-day summer camp program on how presidential elections work. But we weren't college boys at the time...
