173.2 I'm always a smidge heavier the AM after a PM workout...it's taking a consertive effort to remain positive

Keep the faith. Weight loss is not a linear process. Unless you are Tom. Expect to plateau at times and sometimes you'll gain a bit and get stuck a pound or two higher and then reverse back down. Just follow the trend down and stick with it
Key is to modify the diet and your long term eating habits. That is what creates an initial weight loss and ability to maintain once a goal weight is reached.
I'd guess you are workingout, eating and hydrating and that is reflected in your morning weight. You might want to take morning and before workout weights and average them. Create a positive vibe around what you are doing and it'll be easier.
Keep the faith and remember like fitness it's a long term goal to establish and maintain a goal weight.
Very best,
Mark

Thank you for the kind words. Being the last five, still recovering from surgery etc... It'll weigh on me if I let it. I'm motivated, this thread is keeping me honest, and I shouldn't be in a rush...my first race isn't until the end of April.
The Long and the short of it is I'm 6'2" 173pounds with a 32" waist. I've lost a couple of inches off my waist since I first posted and the last five will come off in time. I am happy with my progress thus far. Worst case...they don't and I'm racing 15 pounds lighter than last season.
I appreciate the good thoughts and positive mojo.

Re: Help losing 20 lbs
When I ordered my new Spectrum I felt the same way and wanted to loose 20 in the time it took Tom to build the frame. I drove to thee barn got refitted for the new frame and started Weight Watchers the next day. I have lost 18 pounds in the time it took to get delivery of my frame. I like the regiment of weight watchers and it works for me. I still would like to loose another 10. But it is simple, write down every thing you put into your mouth and make it less that what you burn in a day and you will loose weight.
Best,

Re: Help losing 20 lbs
Thought I'd check in here….been keeping the weight off without trying now, I was 134.8 / 5.4 this am. It actually feels normal to eat the way I do, although I still can get pretty easily derailed by sugar. This past week was a good example. Halloween was on tap and of course my wife bought 2 bags of those mini Snickers bars. Well, with the storm and power outage Halloween was cancelled in our town. I knew where she hid the candy and after a couple of nights without power I caved and ate a whole bag of 'em. Felt horrible the next day, like a sugar hangover or something. Then last night we had dinner and I remarked that it was going to tough to stay away from the last bag of Snickers (looking for her help) so she brings out a Lindt chocolate bar she had been successfully hiding from me. I eat it all, it was fantastic, but after 10 minutes I had a craving to get the other bag of Snickers. I managed to hold off and forced myself to go to bed and read. But it hits home that for me sugar is the devil and I really have to work at staying away from it.
Keep up the battle you guys, once the habits change it really is easier.

Re: Help losing 20 lbs
Happy surprise this morning:
132.9 / 7.9
This week will be tough though. Business meals 3x per day and not a lot of exercise time.

Yep,
It's the dinners and lunches. This time of year is a killer. I am just back from a week in the north, where anything worth eating is worth deep frying. Then last week at home - 3 dinners out, and this coming week I have 2 dinners out already booked.
deadly.

Re: Help losing 20 lbs
161.0 this morning, that's my lowest since the '90's.
It's getting harder to burn those extra calories now that the day's are short.

Re: Help losing 20 lbs
Got a Health-O-Meter scale at work I'm brining home tonight (sales at a Med Distributor)...reason
Read 170.4 this AM, I didn't believe it so I cleaned the four floor contact points and floor.
It then read 174.0 wasn't sure I believed that either. I waited started my coffee etc... Five minutes later it read 171.4.
Went back 15 minutes after that weighed myself pre BM 171.4 and post 170.4.

Re: Help losing 20 lbs
163.2
I seem to be stuck in the low 160's at the moment.
Perhaps I need to be a bit more strict, and add an evening ride on the trainer.

Re: Help losing 20 lbs
OK I'll finally jump in. Steady at 122 – 123 lb / 55 – 56 kg and <13% body fat for a few weeks now. Came down from 127 – 128 lb. I have a health-o-meter scale. Not trying to be presumptuous but I don't think the body fat is right. Another cyclist I know was in the same range on a scale's measurement but got a dunk test and came out with 8%. I would guess closer to 10% for myself?

Re: Help losing 20 lbs
Scale in this weeks hotel room says I am 128. If only I didn't know better.
Holidays coming, keep the faith.

Hmmm, let's see, a hotel room scale that says you're a few pounds lighter??…..wonder why they would do that?….time to raid the snack bar in the fridge or call room service….naw, this is America land of capitalists they wouldn't do something like that would they?
