I started wearing a lightweight silk scarf, wrapped around my neck, on those cooler Israeli days. It was surprisingly effective, comfortable and (if I can be so self-serving) attractive.

I'm sure that Mr. Keith Richards would agree with me. Any scarf wrapped around a man's neck is a mens scarf.

Then again, I'm sure Mr. Steven Tyler would too. Now I'm not so sure.

Good rule of thumb for spending on scarves, umbrellas, and commuter bikes:

How much are you comfortable spending on something for yourself that a total stranger will eventually own?

inversely proportional to the probability of waking up foggy with large parts of previous evenings memory blanked.

I patronize the Irish Imports Shop heavily. Gotten scarves, ties, linen shirts, sweaters, and a f*ckin' bee-yootiful heavy wool overcoat from them. One of those Cambridge institutions that you can only hope doesn't disappear. It does look like the daughter is poised to take over the business, so that's a good sign. Anyone remember the Witchcraft store that used to be next door? Somewhere in the late 80's..it went away. The Old, Weird Cambridge is pretty much gone.
