I've been so busy getting ready for Nahbs that I haven't had a chance to post here the last few weeks. Sorry about that! Here are a few shots of what I was working on. Most of these were taken by John Watson from PROLLY IS NOT PROBABLY - bikes, music, design, & bullshit. . He does a great job.
They are in order: Ben's Stainless All-Arounder, Ernest's Stainless Signature Road, and Bill's grass track racer, along with a photo of his group racing in one of the events it was built for:
First attempt (and likely last) at painting more than one color: red stripe and gray lettering on black base. I could do so many repairs in the same amount of time.
A repaired toptube of a Simplon Pavo.
Clearcoating to Steely Dan:
Another vintage frame back on the road after the left chainstay came loose fromit's internal lug at the BB:
I've been beyond buried but at least some neat things have been happening...
Weld Porn(7005 race bike. FAST)
This custom is headed to the PNW. It's red but not THAT red.
This Lumberjack is going to be the last steel frame in March
Some stuff I poached from this guy's Flickr account;
FTW before the start of the Mammoth Kamikaze, still working at Mongoose. 26"/24" Koz Kruiser, drum brakes, motorcycle leathers. Shit eating grin. It takes him about 35 minutes to tell the story of a 5(ish) minute race run. I'm guessing he built about 15 frames that won that race in the Pro class over the subsequent years. Stoked!
