Re: Vendetta Cycles
hey conor atmo - how is it going? i mean - the thread has been up for a while and it has great content and pic
links. has the Vexposure landed more visits to your site and, better yet, to the order books? just following up.
also...any plans, or are you all closer to, leaving HP for the worldwide vendetta domination situation? thanks, huh.

Richard,
Sorry for not replying sooner, but with NAHBS and all....
Anyway your comments are interesting and I went and pulled some data to check site views/visits to see if there was any spikes related to SO participation.
If I compare site visits from 2009 to 2010 there is definitely an overall increase.
2009
2010
So that looks promising, even though 2009 was a down year overall. From a site hits point-of-view.
Our SO thread started in June 14th of 2010. Looking at the numbers for June and July - when the thread had the most "action" or would've been considered new. I don't see an appreciable difference in site hits. There are a few days towards the end of June that show a bit of a spike that maybe related but I did check the SO thread and there weren't any posts in our thread from 6/19 to 7/2 so I don't think that's the case.
I added a flickr account back in November and I don't see a big increase in traffic to our site during that time frame either, although our flick traffic has grown over the past 6 months.
Additionally I don't see a big number of website visits based on the recent NAHBS show either - although there is a bit of a spike right before NAHBS started but it's not as big as whatever happened on the 4th of February.
What does the data mean? Hard to say without a deeper analysis. I see our numbers increasing in general and I see our flickr hits increasing. So that's good. Perhaps the people that have been looking for us have found us or something or other.
Additionally if I look at the responses within the SO thread itself I see that out of the 80 or so to date only 6 are from non-framebuilders so well over 90% of the discussion has been with other builders.
To answer the second part of your question I haven't had any orders from VS'ers based on the Smoked Out thread. By that I mean, no one has emailed/called me and said - "wow your SO thread was cool, I want to get bike...", etc. I have had inquires from VS members in the past but none have panned out to date.
Conor
p.s. Even though we were across from each other at NAHBS I'm sorry we didn't get to have more of a chance to chat. Hopefully next year.

I love my Vendetta! Although come to think of it, I think I worked backwards and found out about you BEFORE I signed up here!

Re: Vendetta Cycles
We delivered this bike back in December but for a variety of reasons I wasn't able to setup and get any photos of it.
Luckily the new owner, Paul, lives in Seattle and I recently headed up north for a wedding so we were able to get together and take a few photos.
It's always nice to see a bike being ridden. Given the dirt, the mud and the rain, I thought the bike looked fabulous!
Plus it's always a treat to get some shots of bikes in their natural outdoor habitat.

Harry with a bike throw for the win!
I believe this is from last season, but even so it's just too cool.

OBCA 2011 in Bend
Garrett and I attended the Oregon Handmade Bicycle Show in Bend, Oregon this past weekend.
The weather was great, the people were great, the beer and pizza were great. Couldn't really ask for much of anything else.
I didn't have a lot of time to take too many photos but here are a few:
I tried to get Eric to smile and this was the best one...

Tina definitely missed hanging out with everyone and taking photos.
We should definitely get your Dad and my Dad together sometime. A couple of peas in a pod.

This has been in the works for a long time and shows that good things come to those who wait.
I need to fix the background on the first two pictures but I think folks here get the idea.
A few additional photos of our fast townie/city bike.
Yes, this will be at NAHBS. Hopefully you'll be there too.
