    Very nice!

My five year plan includes something in the 22 foot range w/ a swing keel for exploring the Chesapeake.

You have lost your mind. Congratulations that is a really clean configuration for overnight sailing. Needs more cowbell.

really sweet. exactly what i want to move into eventually. the 28' range is right where the normal transition is to inboard diesels, which is the money. These are so damned easy to work on too. love it. congratulations and happy sailing!

jonathan-the boat pictured is identical to mine though mine has a bigger wheel, cabin heater, and not quite that bristol belowdecks. will be in the water before the end of the month.

Coastal Maine in the summer might very well be my favorite place on earth.

I'll be sure to give more heads-up next time.

Did a lot of farting around Boston Harbor with the old man back in the 80's on a early 70's ODay 25 with a pretty neat keel that had a centerboard you could winch up into it from the inside (the winch also served as the support for the table inside). I don't know why, but I always wanted a Sabre 28 when I was in my early teens- they seemed a lot sleeker than the ODay tubs were. I dunno, 28 just seems like the perfect size for so many trips... a real Goldilocks boat...

    Nice. I am jealous.

    CONGRATULATIONS!

I will be riding Atlanta, GA. to Portland, Maine with PAC TOUR in September and will be happy to arrive with some of the finest beers Belgium has ever produced if the offer is still open. Perhaps, I will send them ahead of time. Hell, even if there is no offer, come september 26, after 17 days and 1800+ miles, I don't give a crap about the boat ride, someone to get drunk with is all I need.

very cool indeed airedale! pretty and fast.
an update for the boat folks: i made it to my homebase/mooring. a cple wks ago me and a buddy did the 6hr so hr delivery in some fairly brisk conditions. big wind big waves. all was well til the mouth of the kennebec itself. waves were bigger, top sections braking off. crazy. at one point i looked back and the dinghy was coming down a breaking wave like a boogie board. another time it was nxt to the boat-backwards. i had a knife ready to cut it loose but it survived and so did we. exciting 1st sail. this video is my summer home at the mouth of kennebec-much calmer conditions. from this mooring you can catch stripers, bluefish, flounder. you can row into the clam flats at low tide and dig enough clams for dinner in about 15mins-by hand. you can lie on that small beach buck naked. that large lump you see off in the distance, the 2nd lighthouse-is 3miles away-seguin light. its big. you can moor in there and hangout on that island all day/night whatever. eagles, osprey, eiders, hawks, seals, terns, gulls, fish etc...everywhere. fun place for drinking beer and grilling and maybe, maybe unhook and go for a sail! but really, why bother?! ahhhha

looks like an ideal spot. nice choice! can't wait to visit Popham again.

if you plan any trips up the coast this summer - know you have a mooring on the Benjamin River, if you bring your bike that is...

    enjoy!!
