Nothing is more baller than the last-gen Forester STI that VTCar built. Call JH and find out where that car is.

I've only driven them in Japan (the JDM model) but it was a lot of fun. There was also a Forester CrossSports that they had in Japan what was a bit milder than the STI version and was quite cool.

Testing a 2012 Passat 2.5 SE right now. Yeah, it's a significant step down in materials from the previous Passat, but it's actually pretty nice (I have two kids and the leatherette is a good option I think), and still feels somewhat Germanic. But wish they'd do this here.. (woohaa, wouldn't that be nice with the diesel?)

The off-center steering wheel doesn't even bother me. Now I just have to figure out how to stop the average MPG readout from resetting every time the car is turned off. Grrrrr.

Baller is a Benetton F1 bike. Or something. Only ¥17999 ($150 ish back then in 2004 when each dollar got me ¥120)

I also happened upon a Benetton F1 golf bag when on that same trip. Really wished I had purchased that.

Then stumbled upon this baller gym bag:

If I am anything, it's a super contender.

And back to cars, real ballers drive pink rally cars. This one belongs to my co-worker's friend.

    Or a Dihatsu Naked.

I have a 2007 Passat 3.6 4Motion with about 90K on it. Wonderful car. Plenty of room for my three kids and dog and it's pretty quick too. It has more bells and whistles than I need but my wife loves it.

Saw this Lambo Aventador on my way to work. It was neat and all but I'd feel like a complete asshat driving it around.

Wow, even with 3 local car mags here I haven't seen an Aventador in the wild. Co-worker has a Gallardo LP560-4 but I was out of of the office the day he drove it in last month.

I was pretty surprised when I saw it. It's also surprising just how big it is in person. It's pretty strange the number of exotics I see on a regular basis. The next day I saw several Lotus Elises as well as a 911GT3 RS. My neighbor's friend brought over their Tesla roadster and let me check it out - neat car.

Many years ago I got to check out a McLaren F1 GTR in person. That is an amazing piece of hardware.

Car and Driver just relocated their office here in Ann Arbor, less than a mile from us now - so we come upon some of their test cars occasionally. Automobile is downtown A2 on Liberty St, and Winding Road (David E Davis' spin off project) is in Ypsi.

This is still the coolest thing I've been in:

Did Subaru ever fix their issues with the engine knock once it hit around 120-150k miles? I've known four differenet people that have had issues with this and the repair shops claim that nearly every one of the 2.2-2.5 cars have the same issue when it comes in the door.

That license plate is like adding a spinning bowtie to the Speedo you're wearing to your kid's college graduation.

Carrera GT? 10 years old and I'm not sure its been topped. Or ever will be, in the age of turbos and multiple driver aides.

We got had a red Countach growing up. You sat really low in those buckets, but I couldn't sit low enough to avoid the stares of people. Fast as all hell, though.

A "business partner" was originally #35 in line for one of those when they were taking pre-orders/sign-ups. I think he ended up selling his spot for $40K or so.

When I was working out of Singapore last year, there was one that was always parked on the street. The crazy thing is that it costs around $80K Sg to have permission to drive the car for five years, and a 31% import tax, on top of that. Oh, and we aren't even talking about the ERP schemes on the road, or the cost of parking...

Makes owning a fancy car in the US look cheap.

Wow didn't know all that. Yet another reason I'm going to miss AA.
