I'm just finishing welding my first frame. I've had some trouble with the seatstay-seattube joint between the stays and the st. I think I spent too much time in the area and when I was finally able to lay down a bead it was "bubbly" and "pitted". I tried doing a second pass over I couldn't smooth out the pits. I've was told the pits are caused by overheating or contamination. I cleaned the area with a wire brush and let it cool, but I still can't get out the pits.
What is my best cause of action? Should I try grinding out the weld?
Tubing is Columbus Cromor OS.
