Working on a project in the ME. Yesterday they finally send me the CAD file for said royal palace...

Today I open it and my AutoCad freaks out because "this file was produced on an unlicensed copy of AutoCad" or some shit. You're an engineering company working for the royal family of a nation that makes more in oil money in one day than I'll see in my lifetime and you can't be bothered to purchase the program?

Doesn't bode well for the rest of the project methinks.

Medicare, nursing homes, and the disconnected chaos we call a health care system. We're lucky that my better half could affort to quit her job (in healthcare) just to coordinate care for her parents. There's a guy at work that uses the phrase "it's something called a" all the time - for example, "it's something called a sandwich" describing a sandwich, "it's something called a number 9 bolt" describing a number 9 bolt and so on. Every time he does that and I ask "What is it, really?" he looks at me totally uncomprehendingly.

But that's not the grump.

Biting flies and stinging insects. Why, if you got me once on the front and I unzipped my jersey to let you go do you have to run around back and get me a couple more times? Why, if you're out flying around and you run into me do you immediately sting me on the shoulder? In that case I guess it was because six feet couldn't grab on tight enough so you decided to use the stinger as an anchor but still, you'd think your technique would be a little better than that. The final one that pushed it over to grump level was the one that hit me on the chin this morning and instantaneously let me have it. That was totally uncalled for.

I'm gonna throw in the European Holiday right now...(because I am not on one and because my business is on hold until my team gets back from there's...sigh...haven't they ever heard of CROSS season and the need for getting everyone their kits in time?)
