Default Hotel Parking Lot Brake Job

I am in St.Louis on a business trip and I heard the rear brakes on my car start to grind. One of the pads had seized in the caliper so the other pad wore out quickly.

500 miles from home so I limped the car to a car parts store for pads and a wrench. I used the jack and lug wrench by the spare tire and I swapped pads on the rear of my Honda Accord in the parking lot of my Holiday Inn Express. Total expenditure...$23. Am I a hillbilly or just cheap?

I was amazed by how easy it is to change brake pads on Honda.

A bit chilly out today, but not too bad in the sun. LMK if you need any other tools.

You are right about that. If I had 5 spoke wheels, I might be able to change the pads without removing the wheels. Maybe.....

I don't know anything about brake jobs on Hondas, but please tell me you didn't support the car by that cheapo jack and then crawl around under it... that's a good way to maim or kill yourself. Jack stands are cheap.

Not a chance. That cheapo jack is made out of silly putty at best. I jacked up a corner, put the wheel under the rocker panel and went to work. I always assume the car will fall at any moment so I keep clear. If the jack failed, the wheel would stop the car from landing somewhere uncomfortable.
