Default Microwave Egg. Courtesy of Toshiba.

I have the Toshiba Microwave Cookbook.

Wow the eggs are so good!

I take a small bowl spread butter around it, crack an egg and pour in the contents. Then I spear the yolk, throw in a little butter and find a plate to go on top.

I put this in the microwave on 80% power or something like for a minute and a half or less and it's like having a Macdonald's breakfast egg machine in my home.

    Totally converted. 150%.

do you peoples have any microwave tips, apart from don't break the platter, clean the wave guard cover and don't buy a microwave that doesn't have a rotating platter?

I found a microwave a few years ago on spring cleanup week. I microwaved a lot of stuff, but my favorite was a carton of raw eggs. Blew the door off after less than 30 seconds. Very gratifying. Didn't try any of the egg, but it definitely cooked and there were small bits everywhere.

I do something very similar to what you do, but maybe a little more elaborate.
Once a week, I sauté some peppers and onions, and brown some crumbled turkey sausage (or buy the pre-cooked bags).
Then, in the mornings, scramble an egg and a splash of milk, stir in some peppers, onions, sausage and cheese. Microwave the whole thing in a bowl sprayed with Pam. 1 minute, stir, 1 minute more. Top with homemade salsa.
The results are shockingly good, have perfect fluffy texture, take 3 minutes start-to-finish, and cleanup is absurdly easy.

One more thing I do a lot - I love roasted sweet potatoes but don't always have an hour-plus to roast 'em. Peel, cube, oil, season as usual, then microwave on high for 10-15 min or so while the oven is pre-heating. Finish them in the oven at 425-450 or so for 15-25 min. 95% as good in about 40% of the time.
