Fished a lot as a kid, but haven't been in years. Every winter the state stocks some trout somewhere around here. This year they stocked them in a small pond at the State Park where I do a lot of riding. Went out his morning and caught a few. I'd forgotten how much fun it is to fish. Is it dinner time yet?

They're nothing to brag about size wise, but I hope they taste good.

Quit counting, but here is a SM bass for a visual - bronze, red eyes, mouth does not extend beyond eye.
And, a 20" LM - greener, mouth extends beyon eye = big as a paddleblade!
Also floated right beneath this Blackhawk - a badass predator.
    Amazing day of fishin'

We're in NE Texas now, the lakes are low so there's no good dock fishing. I've got to make friends with someone who has a boat. I have a shimaNo Bantam reel, shimaNo>Campy in fishing gear.

Man o' man! Went fishing with the 5 year old gal last Sunday, Easter. Caught 7 fish, in 7 cast.!!! Now she thinks that is the way it is supposed to be.. She went camping with my wifes, brother this weekend. They fished for 20 minutes and not a nibble.. She told him, "My dad catches a fish every time," he will never live that down.........

Yep. Took my kids fishing last week. Guess who didn't catch anything? I'm still being reminded.

I've also just been told of a few out of the way creeks that are yielding some big bass. Need to get myself a floatation device of some sort to navigate the creeks though. All of them surrounded by private property.

    Default Local Interest - Westchester/Fairfield

Any Westchester/Fairfield salonistas who like fishing, get in touch. I'm thinking about getting a boat on a DEP reservoir this year, but I'm afraid I won't use it more than 10 weekends or so (cycling is still the #1 hobby). I'd be very interested in sharing a boat if someone is interested.

What are these like in side to side stability ie. casting and angling with the fish? I can see somegoogled images showing white water use, does this point to a less stable shape or more stable. Also, is the inflatable aspect to allow packing in and out of more remote water ways? For me and where I live that would not be so much of an issue but can see the sense for further afield and for storage etc. Thanks

Yep - they are for high stability and low water, and you can roll up a stack of them in just about anything - I think they are maybe 15 kilos total - easily tote-able with one hand.
    Great boats!
A standard down here, you can sneak through 4" of water.
Great for fishing, I'm not the most Stable person :)

    IMG_1011.JPGIMG_0984.JPGIMG_0880.JPGIMG_0909.JPGIMG_1005.JPGIMG_1019.JPGMan........fishin' was slow, way slow.
Caught a handfull of dinkers in the 10" range but nothing worth keeping at all.
No predatory birds yet where usually evey big rock has a GBH (great blue heron) and the skies were fillled with ospreys, kingfishers, eagles and mergansers on the water. Just not warmed up yet.
    However, boating was awesome.
Paddling UP the Colorado is always a workout!

Fish don't know what to do.
Some small bass, unlike last week which was gangbusters on nice ones - did catch this native roundtail, which is actually a minnow.
They pull like crazy - this one was stuffed with eggs.
Also a picture of my best catch ever, by far.
