Yesterday I was able to attend my first cross race of the year, motivated by pal Guy Fazzio aka Liv2bike who was racing his first Cyclocross race ever. The dude is a natural placing 5th in our pretty competitive masters class and 6th in cat4 where a couple of dropped chains cost him the podium. Good job Guy!

This frame is bound for Canada. I'm international now. It's a UCI Approved Cross/Allrounder.

Here is the latest frame to stay local. TIG welded with a blend of my favorite pipes. Candy Organic Green over a black base coat.

Tomorrow, for the second year in a row I'm hosting friends and clients in Sunny Gainesville FL for 4 days. It looks like Feb in Fla is the place to be.

It's so predictable when folks start a post apologizing for not posting or being absent on blogs or sites like this. I think there is a subset of well meaning folks who want to keep current but don't find the time or content. So, here I am doing just that.

I've got more business in my queue than I've ever had before and it blows me away because I don't advertise or follow the usual conventions. I like to think I make really great riding bikes that get ridden and that word of mouth sells in numbers im comfortable with. So far nobody has told me otherwise. I have had a website planned and haven't talked to my web guy in so long he probably thinks I'm MiA. The long queue has me uncomfortable because I can't tell anyone when exactly their frame will be done and that bothers me. Im basically booked until the fall. The reason why ill elaborate in a sentence or three but I'm working a little slower than I had a year ago at this time. So I'd like to thank the folks who have sent me deposits for the trust and understanding.

Last week I was diagnosed with a primary immunodeficiency disease. In short, I don't make the stuff that knocks out infections. It's kept me off the bike and out of the shop for large portions of the last 6 years and I'm only now learning how all of those individual illnesses were related. My wife and I are trying to find the best doctors to treat this relatively rare disease that will keep me alive and allow me to maintain some sort of healthy lifestyle but I'm also having to come to terms with the realization that many of things I've also wanted to do may not ever be possible. There is no textbook for living with a PID so ill just have to see what leads to what as it happens.

Ill try to update this site more regularly and add to the FNL. Thanks for listening. It was cathartic to write and I hope at least a little informative to read.

    Cheers

Jonathan, I don't know you, but I've followed your career with interest and appreciation on VSalon. I am really sorry to hear your news. All I can say to be positive is that it sounds like you are handling it in a constructive way. Good luck with treatments and management, and best wishes.

Also, it is great that you are being open with your customers and letting them know the score.

Jonathan, so sorry to hear that, although in a way is kind of good news to finally know what was going on all this time. I'm going to send you a pm to tal about that as you know I'm also going through similar labyrinth.

My best wishes and I hope it will somehow be healed and you can come back toa good life quality including some riding and saddle time.

    Ánimo!

I'm very remiss in having my kids on kickass bikes. Kid#2 has expressed some interest in racing our mtb series so I thought I'd shift some effort his way. First ride.

This is something I've been working on for awhile. My role was mostly as welder and to figure how how to fabricate this efficiently and make it ride proper. My job is mostly done, but its nice to see it nearing completion.
