Mr. Stepanyan stopped by the shop again yesterday and we probably spent an hour and half talking- mostly him talking and me listening and taking notes! He showed me a technique he has recently developed for doing precious metal inlay in mother of pearl where you cut grooves in the mother of pearl with a graver and gently force the metal into position. It's so amazing and wonderful when you get to pick the brain of a craftsman that is at the absolute top of his game- and he's totally willing to share tips, tricks and information.
